Keynote Presenter – Sherryl Scott Heller, PhD
Sherryl Scott Heller, PhD, is currently an Associate Professor in the department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Medicine at Tulane University School of Medicine. As a graduate student, Dr. Heller trained and worked in the field of Infant Mental Health (IMH) under the supervision of Drs. Julie Larrieu and Charles Zeanah. In 2000 Dr. Heller was one of 19 IMH consultants selected nationally to consult Early Head Start programs. Dr. Heller worked with the YWCA East Baton Rouge EHS program serving adolescent mothers. Since December of 2007 Dr. Heller has been responsible for providing reflective supervision to mental health consultants serving on a state-wide program. Dr. Heller co-edited a book with Dr. Linda Gilkerson of the Erikson Institute in Chicago, on providing reflective supervision to professionals in the field of early childhood intervention published in 2009. In October 2011, Dr. Heller was selected to be a fellow in Zero To Three’s Leadership Development Institute where her project focused on developing a measure to examine the impact of RS. Dr. Heller is currently the director of the Fussy Baby Network New Orleans and Gulf Coast home visiting program. Dr. Heller also provides regional and national workshops and consultation on reflective practice, reflective supervision, and early childhood mental health consultation throughout the country.
