Reflection & Feedback

reflection and feedback

  • Reflection and feedback meetings can occur at any point in the coaching cycle. They should occur after every TPOT/TPITOS observation and after every focused observation or activity.

  • Use data, notes and prior knowledge to develop some potential reflection questions and feedback.

  • Effective questions are open-ended, invitational, specific, evoke possibilities, positively or neutrally biased and challenge assessments or assumptions.

  • Good feedback is based in data, non-attributive, conversational, evokes reflection and acknowledges, encourages or affirms.

  • Engage in a conversation in which you check in on previous commitments, help the client reflect on current practices and develop goals.
