Speak for Wisconsin Babies!
They need your voice.
Focus on Social, Emotional and Behavioral Well-Being for Babies and Young Children
Focus on Infant and Early Childhood Mental Health!
Our legislators need to hear from you, their constituents, about information and personal stories on why it’s important to fund programs and efforts that focus on quality social and emotional life skills for our youngest children—from birth to five years old.
Contact your legislators to let them know why early relationships are so important! Though it is important to reach out to all legislators, the Joint Committee on Finance has the most direct decision-making power for the budget.
If you live in the district of a member of this crucial committee (listed at the bottom of the page), please be sure to make your voice heard:

Contact your elected officials today to ensure they understand the critical importance of the first five years and significance of infant mental health. Tell them we have solutions that work to ensure a strong foundation. Ask them to include Healthy Minds Healthy Children, Wisconsin's Infant and Early Childhood Mental Health Consultation program, in the State Budget for the next biennium. We've put together an email template for you to use. Please feel free to add to it or adapt it to your preference. Access the template here, and send it to your local elected officials.
If the email link takes you to a contact page, we recommend you type out your comments in MS Word, then copy and paste them into the email form on the contact page.
Email the Joint Committee on Finance
It’s important to contact both your local elected officials and the Joint Committee on Finance about infant and early childhood mental health. The more we show up and/or write in, the better our chances are to make sure infant and early childhood mental health receives the funding needed to continue to provide resources and support to create a thriving Wisconsin from birth and beyond. Email and ask the Joint Committee on Finance members to include Healthy Minds Healthy Children (HMHC), Wisconsin's Infant and Early Childhood Mental Health Consultation program, in the State Budget for the next biennium at $5 million annually: budget.comments@legis.wisconsin.gov.
