Shared Goals & Action Plans
Goal Setting
Goal setting is a collaborative process in which the teacher and coach select and write goals based on identified needs.
Goals should be specific, observable, and achievable within a defined time frame.
The most effective goals are those that focus on a clear change in a teaching practice. Teaching practices describe the actions and behaviors of teachers, including the way a teacher interacts with children and how they prepare an environment to support optimal development.
Use an action plan form to break down the goal into smaller steps, determine resources and materials and set a timeline.
