Strengthening Families Protective Factors Framework Training
When: November 7th, 2pm-4pm
Where: Fitchburg Public Library, 5530 Lacy Rd, Fitchburg, WI

The Strengthening Families Protective Factors Framework guides child- and family-serving professionals to recognize and lift up families’ strengths and to shift their practice in small but significant ways that support families to build five key protective factors. Learn what Strengthening Families is all about, and how you can use the framework and tools from the Center for the Study of Social Policy to make changes in your practice and help families build their protective factors.

Presenter Cailin O'Connor is a Senior Associate at the Center for the Study of Social Policy, where she works to promote better outcomes for young children and their families, with a focus on promoting the protective factors that children, families, and communities need to thrive. With roots in the field of family support and child abuse and neglect prevention, Cailin’s work has addressed a wide range of issues, including adverse childhood experiences, cross-systems coordination, effective prevention strategies, and evidence-informed program im-provement. She is a graduate of Macalester College, and holds a mas-ter's degree in Human Development and Family Studies and a gradu-ate certificate in Prevention and Intervention Science from the University of Wisconsin-Madison.

WI-AIMH is very excited to announce that nominations are open for TWO Awards!
The James R Ryan Lifetime Achievement Award is given to an individual who has made a significant contribution to the social-emotional development of infants, young children and their families within a Wisconsin community, thus demonstrating a commitment to the mission and vision of WI -AIMH
The Spirit of WI-AIMH Award is given to a professional in any area of Infant Mental Health who goes above and beyond to provide high quality services to families with young children.
NOMINATIONS ARE NOW BEING ACCEPTED FOR BOTH AWARDS
PROCESS
Any interested party may nominate an individual for either Award. Please see the attached forms for more information.
One complimentary full conference registration will be awarded to the award recipient.
Completed Nomination Forms are due by May 10, 2019
REVIEW, SELECTION and PRESENTATION
· Nominations will be accepted until May 10, 2019.
· WI-AIMH will review and post complete applications on WI-AIMH’s website on May 20, 2019.
· Voting by current WI-AIMH members will be open from May 20 – June 7, 2019.
· The nominee with the most votes will be selected to receive the award.
· The award recipients and their nominators will be notified in mid June 2019.
· The Award will be presented to the award recipient at a lunch ceremony on the 2019 Wisconsin Infant and Early Childhood Mental Health Conference on Monday, October 14, 2019.

Professional Development: What is Infant Mental Health Consultation?
Janna Hack, LCSW, IMH-E®, will provide an opportunity to explore IMH Consultation in various programs serving infants and young children. She will define IMH Consultation and provide the benefits to receiving consultation. She will also address the qualifications needed to become a consultant and describe the various ways a consultant could be used to support programs. She will highlight her own work as a consultant!
1.5 contact hours continuing education credit available for $10.00.
Registry credit is also available.
